Recap
During the last months, I've been writing (among other topics) about the benefits of constructing with Guadua Angustifolia.
For those of you who love to have it all concentrated in a thread, please follow my X page - I'm also posting there Guadua related materials.
Today I'll share with you my personal experience, after having built my home using this incredibly strong natural material.
Pain point
It all started in 2012, when I saw the housing crisis could not be dealt with by the Israeli Govt, as none of its members had a genuine interest in lowering prices.
During the 2008 global financial crisis, the QE program - initially offered by Prof Werner to the Japanese deflating economy of the 1990s, and poorly implemented by Ben Bernanke on a non-deflated economy in 2008 - drove interest rates down to nearly zero, adding fuel to the fire.
I began to realize that:
- My future will not be bright if I will only have one source of income.
- At this rate, I should consider investing outside of Israel.
- Bitcoin, Gold & farmland are the targets.
- I should plan & build an auto-sustainable agri producing unit for the future to come.
As I shared on this post, I started purchasing my first bits a few months after realising those points.
Next task was to go out and find a farmland, in a decent price.
I flew to Colombia with my partner in-life, and during 6 weeks we toured more than 100 farms, all located in the region we marked.
A few reached the "final stretch", and then we got back to Israel, as time ran out.
We felt we had to summarize, select & go back once we finish preparing funds.
Solution
I took out all my life savings till that time, broke the 3 different pensions accounts I had been accumulating since my first legal job at the age of 16 (actually on third grade already had a summer vacation car service gig with a friend).
We prepared the move, finished selling our appliances (for BTC), and ran over all the regulatory papers required to travel with a dog, as we took our own Canaani race family member with us.
Three days after arriving to the rural house we had rented beforehand, we started touring the zone, looking to see if there are any new offers & how did the price changed.
Half a block from us, we stumbled upon a sign saying "Se Vende" (for sale) with a number.
We looked at the land and it was beautiful, and yet familiar.
We phoned the number but there was no answer.
Execution
So we decided to write down the number in our notepad. While inputting it, we suddenly realised it was already saved by us 8 months before, under the tag "did not respond".
We looked at each other and mutually felt we should insist on getting a hold of the seller.
And we did, with some very helpful divine assisstance along the way, which both of us often see as miracles.
On the next article, I'll share with you the entire construction process of a guadua house - from boots to hat.
Stay tuned, feel free to share, comment & ask!
I provide consulting & sourcing services for top quality Guadua polls.
